Fate Points 007: Ryan Takes Over

Fate Points Episode 006: Off we go into the Wild Blue

I am aware that it has been a while since I put out an episode. I am sorry about that faithful listeners/viewers. Things were crazy there for a few months. Ok, like five months...sorry. Stacy's computer broke, and then I was working on Jadepunk, and all of that. However, good news! Here is the next audio podcast of the show. Brian Engard showed up to discuss Wild Blue, a setting for Fate Core. You can pick this setting up in a big book with four other settings/adventures, Fate Worlds Vol. 1: Worlds on Fire.

Fate Points Episode 11: The Great Merlini Demands Attendance!

Fate Points Episode 5: Apotheosis Drive X(originally aired 04/04/2013)

We had +David Hill on our show to discuss Apotheosis Drive X. When this show originally aired the kickstarter was still live and we talk about that quite a bit. Though that does date the show a little there is quite a lot of good material in this one. We end up getting into a lot of the nitty gritty of what makes this game shine. If you love fate but were a little leery of this project, have a listen and see if it is for you.

Fate Points...an update.

So, things are still rolling along here at Fate Points headquarters. Ok, we don't have a HQ, but it sounded cool, right?

So, the last few episodes have been good overall, but I personally have a few issues here at the home. First there was the interview with +Mike Olson. The interview went very well, but my mike kept giving feedback and I spent the last 45 minutes having to sit there and not be able to say anything (I did ask a few questions via chat that Jacob asked). I have not watched that video as of yet, as I am afraid I will just look pissed off the entire time. :)  I was really upset about it, but the interview went well.

Then last night we had +John Adamus on the show and it started out fine. Then my roommates started watching hockey and turned up the volume on the TV and I am sure you guys heard some of that. I am very sorry about that and eventually went upstairs to finish the remainder of the interview. I hope it did not look like a bad shake cam from a horror movie as I moved up the stairs. But John was a fabulous interview so it was all great in the end.

In two weeks on June 17th we will have +Andrew Goenner who currently has a Fate Kickstarter called Time Heroes. It deals with Saturday morning heroes and Fate! You can check it out here.  http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/geekworldonline/time-heroes-saturday-morning-cartoons-fate-style?ref=live

On July 1st, we will have +J.R. Blackwell on the show to talk about her work on the Fate Core Supplement Court/Ship. An alien invasion set in the Court of Louis XV.

On July 15th, we will have +Amanda Valentine on the show to talk about her work on various Evil Hat games, such as the Paranet Papers. Not to mention a ton of other things she has worked on. Oh and she is also working on Firefly!!

I am in the process of trying to get a few other people on the show and still want to get some of the big dogs from Evil Hat on the show.

Lastly, I have been toying with the idea of having an official Fate Point hangout game with some of our previous guests. I have not really approached any of them yet (except John Adamus), so that will be happening soon.

Take care!

Stacey

Fate Points Episode 9: Mike Olson

We apologize for the sound quality on this one, +Stacey Chancellor had some technical issues which we managed to sort out...five minutes after the show was done. If you can get past the echo the content is pretty damn brilliant.

Fate Points Episode 4: Timeworks and Wicked Fate(origionally aired 03/25/2013)

Mark Diaz Truman is on the show talking about his game designs and kickstarter. Primarily we talk about Timeworks and his work with John Wick on Wicked Fantasy. It was an excellent show.

I have to say I am very happy with how Fate Points has gone thus far. It is always nice to see people say such nice things about it.  I also know it can only get better as we learn how to interview people more efficiently and hopefully get a name for ourselves in the rpg industry. But two things had to happen or none of this would matter.

The first is the people that actually watch the show. I keep getting amazing feedback from people about the show and ways to improve it. Not to mention without people watching it, it would be just two nimrods talking about Fate.

The second is the amazing group of people we have been lucky enough to get such amazing people on the show. So, this thanks goes out to +Rob Wieland +Filamena Young +Jason Morningstar +Mark Diaz Truman +David Hill +Brian Engard +Ryan M. Danks  and most recently +Leonard Balsera

You guys have been amazing, I am honored to have had the chance to get to talk to you (along with my co-host +Jacob Poss), and find out some of the creative process behind the Fate products you have made.

Thank you.

Fate Points happenings...

So, the last few weeks have been a bit crazy for me due to work, so Fate Points has just not been as much of a priority as it usually is. That happens sometimes as real life tends to interfere with things we want to do.

Not to mention, we were supposed to have a show last night with +Ryan M. Danks and there was more than a little communication snafu and it has been bumped to next Monday.

A little about why Ryan is coming on the show.

Aside from being someone that is constantly in the Fate Community hacking the hell out of Fate, he has a Kickstarter coming out next month that is Fate related.

It's a multimedia project powered by Fate Core and based around a web series. The show follows a group of gamers in and out of their favorite Fate Core game, Reachrun (name subject to change), which will be detailed in a FAE implementation if the stretch goal is hit.

They are launching a short film before the web series to build credibility with the Kickstarter and Fate community. The short film, and related stretch goals, is going to Kickstarter next month and the series will show up in its own Kickstarter in August.

The name of the series is the RPGroup.

After that, we will have Evil Hat's Fate genius, +Leonard Balsera on May 6th. I don't even know where to start on that one. He knows more about Fate than maybe anyone on the planet. My inner fanboy is giddy with excitement.

So, sorry things have been quiet, but once life settles you will start seeing me flood your streams with more Fate Points nonsense. :)

Fate Points Episode 3: Fight Fire with Jason Morningstar

+Jason Morningstar  is on the show. No, seriously he is. Why would we lie to you? you can trust us. he talks about stuff. 'struth. He also is makin' stuff. No foolin'!

We started out talking about Fight Fire, but managed to successfully tangent into how much we all love +Leonard Balsera  (though don't tell him about it, shh), all the new things Jason is working on, and there was a point in the middle where it glitches out and we talk about it(the rough patches give it traction). We also speak of Jeepform.

One should also check out Jason's site, mustn't one? Yes!

Fate Points Episode 1 Big Stompy Robots(originally aired 02/11/13)

On this, our inaugural episode we have Rob Wieland, Author of Camelot Trigger. We discuss his project and his work in general. Good times were had by all. The pacing and time management is a bit poor, but over all we are quite happy with how this turned out. Its all uphill from here, and this is a fine show.

This is the first attempt at making this into a podcast. As of right now, the podcast is pretty rough, there will be improvements as we go forward. This is a learning experience for us all.
